The Blooming ๐ผ 01

Some get their names etched into the shrine in the Ruins, while others disappear after a day. Uncertain if this is a game for you? Curious to see how your character would act in it? Testing the waters? Then you're welcome to this Home Tree Test Drive! directions ๐น Don't forget to view the Arrival, our Rules and check the F.A.Q. prompts ๐ THE MEET AND GREET ![]() Each Blooming, a feast is supplied on the Food Altar. Berries, nuts, mushrooms and more have been served in larger portions to fill all stomachs, and both honey-sweetened water and berry juice is served to the thirsty. Tables and chairs are set up everywhere along the walkway between the houses, allowing the new visitors to meet and greet - or try to hide in the corners and eat berries all by themselves. Try your new wings to be the first to grab those delicious crumbs of walnut bread? Or say hi to your party lights, courtesy of some excited glow-worms and fireflies that just want to be your best friends. ๐ THE FASTEST OF THEM ALL Speaking of those wings, isn't it time to really try them out? The Servant Chime is excitedly waving her hands and pointing upwards to the next floors, mimicking taking off as fast as possible and timing them. Some attempts might be difficult, while others catch on quickly. Unfortunately the somewhat dangerous crystal floors can easily knock a faerie down, or even tear their new wings - so caution there is needed to keep this a bloodless race. The winner of each round gets a... ![]() ...bottle cap. Well, nobody said there was even a price! ๐ IT'S DUSTY IN HERE Another Servant, Tone, is ready to hand out vials to each of the new arrivals when they visit the Dust Fountain floor. ![]() These small glass bottles come with attached rings to hang from your belt, and are about the size of an Adventurer's hand. Arrivals are welcome to fill their vial with any of the differently colored dusts, although he'll make serious musical tones of warning to anyone attempting to grab some black dust. (He won't stop you, though. Sometimes people just have to learn from their mistakes.) Despite the markings on the fountains, what these dusts actually do might be a little difficult to understand, but that's what trying them out is about, right? ๐ EXTRA SOFT FRIENDS ![]() There appears to be a small infestation of caterpillars in the Tree, but they're not here to cause any kind of chaos. No, these extremely fuzzy and soft little creatures are seeking out both the Life Stream and Adventurers for a big dose of happiness and pets. They seem to really crave some attention, and unlike many caterpillars with their appearance they're not poisonous or risking irritating any skin. No, they're silky smooth critters of floof with tiny red 'shoes' on their legs, about the size of a lapdog for the shrunken newcomers. ![]() ๐ IN THE MOUNTAIN HALLS As the evening comes after the Blooming event, the sun is still out even at late hours this far north. The massive pines and spruces are casting long shadows, though, and the forest doesn't look as inviting anymore. Just as the first signs of night appears, the ground shakes so hard that even the Tree sways slightly, and the loudest yawn anyone has ever heard thunders through the land. Those brave enough to fly up over the canopy to see what on earth this is all about can catch one of the faraway mountains move just a little bit. A face can be seen in it, blinking a large, glowing eye at the setting sun before it closes again. Another tremor hits the forest as the giant(?!) appears to settle again. ![]() Just what kind of place have you been sent to, where such giant things exist yet you're the size of a fairy? Are the other mountains creatures as well? ๐ WILDCARD Have something else in mind? Feel free to make up your own prompt! |

Mollymauk Tealeaf ๐ฎ Critical Role II
[ Parties were great and all, but Molly pretty sure this is the weirdest one he's been to, and he used to be a carnie. It's charming, he's not going to deny that, but also absolutely bonkers. His bowl is an acorn cap! He has wings!
It's not exactly what he had expected of an afterlife... he's starting to wonder if it is all some big fuckoff trick thanks to the asshole who had this body before him. ]
So, are you wondering if you're really high or just lost your mind?
๐ EXTRA SOFT FRIENDS
[ These creatures are... freaky. They're fluffy and soft, but their little faces bug Molly out a bit - no pun intended.
Still, it seemed like everywhere he turned he found one of them, and he could swear they followed him sometimes. He can't say they reminded him of Frumpkin because honestly, what an insult to the cat, but the small and stalking furry thing was easy to connect.
You can find the lavender tiefling crouched by one, trying to ignore the caterpillar face and just... giving it a pet. His tail swishes slightly, a bit uncomfortable, but the happy sound the creature makes is kind of worth it. ]
Okay, these things have no right being this cute, it's like putting baby clothes on a giant rat.
Meet + Greet
[Maurice is staring down at his juice-filled drinking horn made from curled grass. He's pretty sure Everclear wasn't supposed to do this. It's been A Day.]

Meet and Greet
It's certainly a bizarre turn of events, I'll give you that.
Meet and greet
[The hooded woman's voice is accented, despite the magic that interprets her words. (It's fantasy Italian.) It has a restrained tone, as one used to keeping their voice flat, emotions muted, but she looks at him over her tiny cup, with a hint of amusement.]
To look at you, I would think you more creative.

Star Butterfly | Star vs the Forces of Evil
[Star has only had functioning wings once, and it was kind of an embarrassing situation she'd rather forget. Now she has even COOLER wings, and she's gonna use them.]
Hey, can you pass me the juice? Whoops, too slow! WHEEEE!
[She somersaults over the table, grabbing the berry juice and... spilling it all over. before landing on the other side in a heap.]
Okay, so I might need some practice?
B: Extra soft friends
[A gaggle of caterpillars have gathered in one corner, and at first sight it appears to be for no reason. However, a closer look will reveal that Star is underneath them, desperately trying to hug them all.]
I love them! I just wanna hug all of 'em, but I can't! But I just want to!

Tsunayoshi Sawada | Katekyou Hitman Reborn
[Flying with wings is weird, as far as Tsuna is concerned. He's used to propelling himself with his flames but that hasn't seemed to work as well as it usually does. (Not that he's been trying too hard as, knowing Tsuna, he'd be very likely to set something on fire. Intended or no).
But he's still trying his best to practice. They don't seem to be built for speed as much as floating, which is something else to get used to. And he'd like to think he's getting the hang of it, until his concentration breaks and he plummets, shifting himself instinctively to land beside a table of food rather than on it.]
Ah...Sorry, sorry.
[He says as soon as he recovers, which is quickly.]
[In the Mountain Halls.]
[Tsuna's first instinct when the ground starts shaking is to hide, but in the end, curiosity does get the better of him. And the known is better than the unknown. So he makes his way up, slowly. He's starting to, not appreciate per say, but recognize that being smaller than normal somehow means a lot of adjusting and he has to pause on a branch before looking up.]
How much higher do we have to go?
[ooc: extremely tentative!]

Gobo Fraggle | Fraggle Rock
[Gobo is, in essence, no stranger to new places. That's what being an explorer is all about! Quite literally so. Being transported to the hollow inside of a magical tree, transformed to about an inch tall, and given a fuzzy set of wings and floof was... NOT something he was used to. But his experiences kept him rather calm and it wasn't long before his natural, Fragglish curiosity had taken over.
So here he was at the meet and greet, alternating between browsing the nuts and breads, and testing out his wings. Depending on the time you see him he might even have a bottle cap fastened around him and hanging by one side of his hips like a canteen, evidenced of a race won. Hey, he's a great racer back at the Rock, why should wings (once one gets the hang of them) be any different?
Every now and then, though, one can spot him moving more toward the edge, a piece of parchment in hand. On these instances he seems to be studying the area and drawing it, and he'll flit up through the different floors, leaving for a few minutes but always returning to this one like a "home base." Drawing references? Making a map?]
B. It's Dusty In Here
[The dust fountain was fascinating all its own, and he felt like he could watch it for hours. But when offered the chance to experiment, he took it. Deliberating for a while, he finally picked the vial of gold dust, and returned to one of the other areas to test it out.
First himself, which had nothing happen. Well, maybe it was the magic he already had. The right pill for the right ill, and the right spell for the right problem, as the Storyteller said once. So he wasn't the "right problem"; time to find out what was!
The next test was on one of the nuts from the gathering, which... didn't seem to do anything to it either. At least until he picked it up, noting with surprise- Weightless! Releasing it had it bob a little in the air and then slooowwwlly fall back down. Gobo laughed delightedly at this, bopping it back up into the air. Catching the eye of the nearest Adventurer, he bops it over to them.]
Hey! Let's make a game of this, eh? See how many times we can hit it without it landing!
C. In the Mountain Halls
[It was the tremor that first caught his attention, seeming to travel down his spine and out the end of his tail, the poofball spreading out wide with the sensation. The yawn came next, and without an ounce of further thought Gobo took off. He knew he could go somewhere to see, and so that was where he was headed. Careful through the crystal layers- Then he was up and out, passing into the canopy.
Alighting within the foliage, he stared out across the land. The movement, seemingly of the land itself, arrested his attention and he stared with a mixture of emotions. Fear? Curiosity? Awe? All of the above and more, mixing into a quiet thoughtfulness, almost pensive, on his face. His wings fluttered faintly and then stilled, while a faint night breeze went through his fur.]
This place is more than it seems.
[There were giants back home. Some of them outright deadly, and the Rock was an extremely dangerous place, even before factoring in the earth itself. But this... this was something else entirely.]

Della Duck | Ducktales 2017
[There's a lot to adjust to here, and her new wings are tricky, but not as hard to deal with as being away from her family. Still, she's going to make the best of it - flying without even needing a plane is pretty darn great. Of course, all that activity needs to be fueled with something to eat.
Della is taking a break to snack on crumbs of bread and berry juice. She should probably use this time to process all of this, mentally... But then a firefly headbutts into her back in a playful way, and she's quite distracted.]
Aw, hey little guy! [She turns to the nearest Adventurer.] They're really cute when you can get this good a look at them, huh?
B. The Fastest Of Them All
[Della hoots victoriously as she lands and is presented with a- Bottle cap? Ah, well, a win is a win! Flying is such a big part of her life that she seems to be adjusting to this new variety well. That first race sure went in her favor.
She holds the bottle cap in one hand and claps it into the palm of the other, looking around with a smirk.]
Alright, who wants to go next?
C. Extra Soft Friends
[Della's about an inch shorter than the standard-sized human-turned-fairy, so these caterpillars are a bit more than lapdogs to her, though still not overwhelmingly large. And she loves them! She can be found leaning over one as it moves around and between her feet, giving it plenty of pets and scritches.]
You think we can teach these guys tricks?
no subject
[The challenge is in a voice that oozes confidence and, despite them ALL being tiny, comes from about Della's waist. A few paces away stands the little creature, moth wings fluttering and arms folded, with a smirk to match his tone.
And a bottlecap strung around him to show one win already.]

Eva Rosalene | To the Moon / Finding Paradise
[B] It's Dusty in Here
[C] Wildcard
Darkwing Duck | Darkwing Duck (1991)
It doesn't take long for him to find the fountains. Scooping up a bead of dew, he cups it in his hands and peers through it to get a closer look at the etchings.
"Hmmmmmmm. This one looks like ... yes! Yes, heeheeeee, this is perfect!" With a triumphant whoop, he fills up his vial with blue dust, then immediately dashes it down on the ground.
When nothing happens, his face falls, beak drooping comically as he kicks at the now-empty vial. "Oh come onnnn! That etching was totally a gas cloud!"
D: Dr. Darklittle
There is a pile of wooly caterpillars off to one corner of the meet and greet which is making quite displeased spluttering noises. A good amount of the little critters have decided that feathery duck fairies must give very, very good cuddles indeed. Unfortunately, said fairy in question is not having it.
"No- ah- buh- it - juh- COULD YOU JUST - nngh - mmh - okayseriously - watch the feet - GET OFF!"
He may need some assistance.
E: To See My World Below
Perched on the tallest outcropping little branch he could find, Darkwing has drawn his black witch moth wings around him like a cloak, still as a stone, watching the land around and below.
"Finding himself far flung from sweet St. Canard, Darkwing Duck, undeterred by the unknown, surveys this strange 'scape laid out around him like a quilt of quizzical qu--"
The giant rises and stirs, and he nearly falls from his perch, scrabbling to grab the branch with both hands and right himself.
"Holy cats, what is that thing? And whatever it eats for breakfast, where can I get some?"

Hisirdoux "Douxie" Casperan | Tales of Arcadia Series
[Noticing that Chime was indicating a game that everyone could play was a race of some sorts. Douxie couldn't help but be interested in this bit of fun. At the very least, he could test out how far his new pair of wings can really go. What's a few miles of speed after all?
When the count down began. Douxie prepared himself to take first leap on one of the rocks. Calculating the best route to the top. Biting his lower lip as he thought which angle to take before he took off with a zip into the air.]
๐ [B] [It's Dusty in Here] ๐
[Douxie has experimented with magic many times in the past, whether Master Merlin had approved or not. After all he was a curious young apprentince and wanted to learn as much as he could. Taking the vile and read each the description carefully, ofcourse curious about the black dust with all the warnings. He knew that it shouldn't be touched JUST yet, at least not yet.
Interested in the Gold dust, he took some into his vial, experimenting with a pebble in his hand. Pouring the dust onto it and watching it now float slowly into the air. Gazing at the particles of the dust sparkle softly off the pebble as it floated.]
Fascinating...
๐ [C] [In the Mountain Halls] ๐
[For this young wizard, there was always time to try and explore, learn more about this world if he was going to adapt to staying here for a while. The winds carrying the trees, as the heavy breeze from the long thunderous sound echoed through the forest, right to Douxie's ears. Turning toward the source, Doxie let himself fly upward to try and get a better look.
There the sight of what looked like a giant embedded in the mountain came upon Douxie's gaze. He froze for a moment as his jaw dropped. Now, Douxie has seen many of trolls before, very large ones at that. Giants like these he has only read about in books. He could only mutter to himself as he swallowed the lump in his throat.]
Oh fuzz buckets, what a big one he is!

Wendy Corduroy | Gravity Falls
[Parties were not an uncommon factor in Wendy's life, she thrived in these environments, even when strange things struck to ruin the mood. Granted those parties where normal, human-sized parties, and not this pint-sized, "The Takers" business.
Anywho, she's got several berries in her arms, and she is undeterred.]
Quick! Someone dare me to fit all of these in my mouth!
[The fastest of them all]
[Moth wings are so pretty when folded and pressed into your back, but when they spread out they are a sight to behold. Now more than ever as Wendy takes a stance with her wings a flutter, and suddenly takes off in the direction of the upper floors of the tree.]
One side, slowpokes!
[Unfortunate for anyone that's taking their time, they really don't need a redheaded fairy zipping past in a hurry to nowhere.]
I've got places to be!
[She really doesn't.]
[In the mountain halls]
[You'd best believe that Wendy is above the canopy. Leaning against a tree to watch the lethargic destruction of the forest far, far away from them as a mountain in the shape of a man settles back into a hopefully peaceful slumber.]

Evora, the Watcher | Pillars of Eternity
Despite the weather, and the sudden addition of wings, the lady wears a cloak. It is dark and long, thick enough to be winter wear. The fact that her wings are completely hidden beneath the fabric, gives away that she must have a night gem, as no pixie wings would behave so well.
Now, while her manner of dress generally might seem standoffish, she doesn't give off a brooding, or malicious air. Generally, she just not particularly good with crowds, for several reasons. But this is where there's food and drink, and possibly information, so she isn't going to just take off and hope for the best.
She keeps herself apart awhile, observing. During this time, she doesn't engage directly herself, but doesn't turn away anyone who might approach. After a while, she decides it's time to be proactive, and picks it someone to greet.
"Hello." Did the movement of her lips match the sound that came out? Not exactly. She tried to speak her native tongue, but out comes the common language instead. That's odd. It makes her pause, forgetting to finish a normal greeting. Instead she says the word again, one that is shaped weirdly, then the next that matches up with the sounds appropriately. "Hello. Hello. Am I speaking the same words?"
[It's Dusty in Here]
"Yes, I understand it is dangerous," she says to the spirit, that chimes at her, in a minor key, to indicate the danger. But she is not going to be deterred from taking a sample, of the black dust. Though she is approaching this particular fountain with people caution. She doesn't want to spill it on herself.
"I recommend standing away," she addresses the person nearest her. It's only polite to warn people. "In case of any mishaps."
[Extra Soft Friends]
Isn't she supposed to be withdrawn? Well, if you come along her now, you'll see another side altogether. The hood of her cloak is down, revealing hair as white as moonlight, and the ears of an elf. Her face, however, is buried in the soft fluff of a caterpillar, that is draped across her lap. Another is cozied up to her side, and she's stroking it's fluff with equal dexterity. She coos softly to them both, something about them being sweet soft darlings, or the like. It's hard to hear her, with her face planted in fuzz.
[In the Mountain Halls]
She's one of those who flies up to investigate, at the very first tremor. She watches the event, silent and stoic, up until the creature settles, and sends another rumble through the earth.
"God or monster, it is well that we are warned so early that not all in this strange land might be so welcoming." She's not talking to anyone in general. Perhaps just speaking aloud, but it's a fair point, regardless.
[ooc: Prose is preferred, but I will match! Also Evora is both a Cipher and a Watcher, which are both basically psychic abilities. The former reads things directly about a person (and has some offensive capabilities), and the latter basically lets her talk to the dead/see passed lives/see events of the past. If you want to play with either of these things, just hit me up. If a moment comes up where it might come into play, I will message beforehand.]

Daria Morgendorffer | Daria
[Daria and her wings were not very interested in joining the festivities of the welcoming party. Of course, being whisked away to live in a fantasy sparkle world was one thing, but asked to party? Now that was way too much for this antisocial girl who really just didn't want to be here right now.
Every now and then, she snuck to get some food before going to a corner to think about her situation. Her eyes tended to scan the room, as if she was searching for any danger signs. Because, really, she was in a weird place with weird people. Her distrust was noticeable. Survival mode was on, and her tongue was sharp.]
2. Yeah, I'm not touching that dust. Or...so I thought. Guest starring: furry caterpillar friend.
[Obviously making a side eye at all of the dust, and opting out of using it.
That didn't stop her from hanging around anyway to enjoy a good trainwreck. So most of the time, she found herself on a branch with a fuzzy friend that seemed to take a liking to the very quiet and calm demeanor of this grumpy fairy.
Seeing as it was that, a caterpillar, Daria left it alone. Every once in a while, she turned to it as a habit to make a crack.]
What do you bet: more lost fingers or more lost toes? We've already lost brain cells today.
[Buggy Friend didn't have much of a response.
Later down the line. A vial was shoved at the peanut gallery, filled with green dust.]
No thanks, I'd like to hold off on any potential bad decisions today.
--Hey!
[Nah, she was getting it. Before she could protest anymore, she sat here with her packaged dust. In the small scuffle, some escaped. So now this grumpy woman who didn't want any attention was now surrounded by beautiful blooming plants. Practically covered in them. A real sight now.]
Not a damn word. Not one.
[Well. The furry friend wasn't going to say anything.]

Bright ๐ผ D&D OC
[ Bright is quite fond of fruits, so she has hoarded a raspberry all for herself. Being about the size of a cat in comparison to an adventurer, it's nearly as big as she is - so she's munching happily.
It took her mind of other thing, like where he was and what was going on - and so did the other people around here. Talking ducks and tiny trolls, lots of humans, what was definitely a tiefling? It wasn't too weird, but definitely interesting. ]
What's your name?
[ The tiny dragon asks, half on top of her raspberry and her muzzle covered in berry juice. ]
๐ THE FASTEST OF THEM ALL
[ Having wings other than her own should be... rather horrifying, really. However, the many-tiered wings still worked like her natural ones, so Bright had an upper hand on many other adventurers when it came to using them.
The tiny silver dragon is rushing up and down the tree's long vertical tunnel, swirling around now and then to just bathe in the soothing light of the Life Stream.
Once she lands again, she looks up at the nearest person, her blue eyes wide and excited. ]
Race me!
๐ IT'S DUSTY IN HERE
[ Shiny things were the bane of any dragon, and the wyrmling was no different. Of course she was drawn to the golden dust, happily accepting a vial from Tone. Her pupils turn almost round as she watches the glittery effects...
...and then she tries to eat it.
Coughing and retching, the small dragon blindly backs away until it looks like she's about to fall through the hole between floors. Somebody save her? ]
๐ EXTRA SOFT FRIENDS
[ The caterpillars are almost her size so she curls up with them all, eventually covered in fluffy insects to the point of only one wing sticking out awkwardly.
A cold rush of air comes out of the pile, scattering some of the fluffballs and possibly creating a little ice pool in front of you. Sorry about that, she had to breathe somehow! ]
A little... too cuddly. Help?
IT'S DUSTY IN HERE
And then he sees that distressed person about to reverse course right over the ledge; Horatio's voice, rumbling behind his faceplate, is as rough and dusty as his coat. "Wh- hey! Stop!"
Is she in too much distress to fly if she falls? He doesn't know or want to find out, or love the thought of trusting someone else's life to his new wings and half-remembered flying skills. B'sod. His footfalls are booted and heavy and hurried, and a hand like an intricately jointed metal glove is already extended to try and drag her back if he has to.

Wow, they really know how to treat a guy right! [ This weird little tinier-than-usual dwarf is sitting at the table, stuffing his face with walnut bread and berries. There are crumbs in his beard, which blends into the fluffy little ruff around his collar.
There are also flowers in his beard, and he's grinning as content as you please, looking around at everyone nearby. ] Hey, you gonna finish that? Hook a guy up!
THE FASTEST OF THEM ALL // uh-oh ๐ป๐ป
WATCH OUT! [ Okay, so Merle hasn't exactly gotten the hang of these wings yet! He tried to fly good, he really did, but he is definitely crashing into people as he zooms around. ] Sorry! Sorry, I swear I'm gettingโoof! Sorry about that!

Oscar Pine | RWBY | ota
[ Oscar can be found making his way around the perimeter of the table, scooping bits of walnut bread, berries, and whatever he sees fit onto his plate - though not without caution. Arriving in the tree was alarming at worst and confusing at best, but he'd be lying if he said he didn't feel at home here. It's been so long since he's had the pleasure of enjoying a simple life among nature. So even if this is a dream... is sure is a pleasant one.
As he reaches across the table to grab a particularly tasty looking mushroom, his hip bumps against another's, and he instantly draws back. He might even back up farther than he should. ]
Uh, my bad! Still getting used to these things.
