The Blooming 🌼 01

Some get their names etched into the shrine in the Ruins, while others disappear after a day. Uncertain if this is a game for you? Curious to see how your character would act in it? Testing the waters? Then you're welcome to this Home Tree Test Drive! directions 🌹 Don't forget to view the Arrival, our Rules and check the F.A.Q. prompts 🍃 THE MEET AND GREET ![]() Each Blooming, a feast is supplied on the Food Altar. Berries, nuts, mushrooms and more have been served in larger portions to fill all stomachs, and both honey-sweetened water and berry juice is served to the thirsty. Tables and chairs are set up everywhere along the walkway between the houses, allowing the new visitors to meet and greet - or try to hide in the corners and eat berries all by themselves. Try your new wings to be the first to grab those delicious crumbs of walnut bread? Or say hi to your party lights, courtesy of some excited glow-worms and fireflies that just want to be your best friends. 🍃 THE FASTEST OF THEM ALL Speaking of those wings, isn't it time to really try them out? The Servant Chime is excitedly waving her hands and pointing upwards to the next floors, mimicking taking off as fast as possible and timing them. Some attempts might be difficult, while others catch on quickly. Unfortunately the somewhat dangerous crystal floors can easily knock a faerie down, or even tear their new wings - so caution there is needed to keep this a bloodless race. The winner of each round gets a... ![]() ...bottle cap. Well, nobody said there was even a price! 🍃 IT'S DUSTY IN HERE Another Servant, Tone, is ready to hand out vials to each of the new arrivals when they visit the Dust Fountain floor. ![]() These small glass bottles come with attached rings to hang from your belt, and are about the size of an Adventurer's hand. Arrivals are welcome to fill their vial with any of the differently colored dusts, although he'll make serious musical tones of warning to anyone attempting to grab some black dust. (He won't stop you, though. Sometimes people just have to learn from their mistakes.) Despite the markings on the fountains, what these dusts actually do might be a little difficult to understand, but that's what trying them out is about, right? 🍃 EXTRA SOFT FRIENDS ![]() There appears to be a small infestation of caterpillars in the Tree, but they're not here to cause any kind of chaos. No, these extremely fuzzy and soft little creatures are seeking out both the Life Stream and Adventurers for a big dose of happiness and pets. They seem to really crave some attention, and unlike many caterpillars with their appearance they're not poisonous or risking irritating any skin. No, they're silky smooth critters of floof with tiny red 'shoes' on their legs, about the size of a lapdog for the shrunken newcomers. ![]() 🍃 IN THE MOUNTAIN HALLS As the evening comes after the Blooming event, the sun is still out even at late hours this far north. The massive pines and spruces are casting long shadows, though, and the forest doesn't look as inviting anymore. Just as the first signs of night appears, the ground shakes so hard that even the Tree sways slightly, and the loudest yawn anyone has ever heard thunders through the land. Those brave enough to fly up over the canopy to see what on earth this is all about can catch one of the faraway mountains move just a little bit. A face can be seen in it, blinking a large, glowing eye at the setting sun before it closes again. Another tremor hits the forest as the giant(?!) appears to settle again. ![]() Just what kind of place have you been sent to, where such giant things exist yet you're the size of a fairy? Are the other mountains creatures as well? 🍃 WILDCARD Have something else in mind? Feel free to make up your own prompt! |

Della Duck | Ducktales 2017
[There's a lot to adjust to here, and her new wings are tricky, but not as hard to deal with as being away from her family. Still, she's going to make the best of it - flying without even needing a plane is pretty darn great. Of course, all that activity needs to be fueled with something to eat.
Della is taking a break to snack on crumbs of bread and berry juice. She should probably use this time to process all of this, mentally... But then a firefly headbutts into her back in a playful way, and she's quite distracted.]
Aw, hey little guy! [She turns to the nearest Adventurer.] They're really cute when you can get this good a look at them, huh?
B. The Fastest Of Them All
[Della hoots victoriously as she lands and is presented with a- Bottle cap? Ah, well, a win is a win! Flying is such a big part of her life that she seems to be adjusting to this new variety well. That first race sure went in her favor.
She holds the bottle cap in one hand and claps it into the palm of the other, looking around with a smirk.]
Alright, who wants to go next?
C. Extra Soft Friends
[Della's about an inch shorter than the standard-sized human-turned-fairy, so these caterpillars are a bit more than lapdogs to her, though still not overwhelmingly large. And she loves them! She can be found leaning over one as it moves around and between her feet, giving it plenty of pets and scritches.]
You think we can teach these guys tricks?
no subject
[The challenge is in a voice that oozes confidence and, despite them ALL being tiny, comes from about Della's waist. A few paces away stands the little creature, moth wings fluttering and arms folded, with a smirk to match his tone.
And a bottlecap strung around him to show one win already.]
no subject
Alright, squirt. [She readies her stance and looks up to the destination floor.] Let's see what you've got.
no subject
I've got a lot, just so you know! No one can beat Gobo Fraggle in a race.
[Except Wembley Fraggle but she doesn't need to know that.
When indicated he took off, a dust ring left behind him from the shot up into the air.]
no subject
He takes off like a shot, sure, but Della's also right on the ball. That said, she's not flying by his side - Della's doing a lot of zigging and zagging, right from the start. Gotta find just the right spot to get through those upcoming crystals!]
no subject
The crystal floors were coming up fast, but he flew on unerringly, expression set with determination.]
no subject
She gets back to the race as soon as she can, but she's been set back a bit.]
no subject
Gotta win this-!]

To his mind, at least in his peripheral vision, the two of them passed at the same time. His straight path turned into a gradual, widely turning one to slow down and recover. Looking up as the judge caught his attention, waving him over and handing him a bottle cap. He laughed, taking it and holding it up in the air.
Can't forget the competition, though. Looking around to find her, he tucked the bottle cap under one arm and flew over, smiling brightly.]
Hey! Good race, eh? Guess I won- [He giggled a bit] -by a nose.
no subject
It was a great race! Gobo, right? You're impressive.
no subject
I am Gobo. [He smiled, openly curious.] Nice to meetcha! Even if I'm not all that sure what kinda "you" you are.

[Darkwing rolls his eyes briefly, glancing up from trying to make a fairy-sized peanut and berry sandwich. it's as close to comfort food as he's probably going to get]
You see any of those around? Probably in a gang? Looking particularly well-organized? Goal-oriented? Shifty?!
no subject
But hey, the weird ant-based paranoia is at least a distraction from the nagging feeling that she's seen this guy before. She hasn't! And yet... There's something familiar, almost nostalgic, there. She can't figure it out. But for now: Ants.]
Well, I haven't seen any yet, but it's hard to imagine that it'll stay that way. There doesn't seem to be any shortage of bugs around here.
no subject
[he glances around as if he expects them to start swarming now that he's expressed his distaste for all things crawly]
Too many legs. ... Anyway, if you see any, let me know. They're our ticket out of here.
no subject
You think so? How's that?
no subject
I've dealt with him before. He has a helmet that lets him mind-control bugs. ... And really big buck teeth. If his mouth's open you'll see him comin' a mile away. But really I'm more interested in the ants at this point. ... Pass the boysenberries?
no subject
Wow! You're either totally nuts or you have one heck of an interesting life!
[She's banking on the latter, too. After all, Della has some wild stories she could tell, herself.]
A
Quite the beauties aren't they?
no subject
Yeah! I always loved catching them as a kid! Holding them in my hands and really getting a good look at the glow, but I never got this good a look at them!
no subject
They always showed up in our fields, really lovely at night. Especially on a clear night when the stars are out.
We're very lucky these guys can give us their light.

no subject
They're just as big as my friend Archie from back home!
[Shrugs.]
I don't see why not, they seem friendly enough to let you be their friend after all.
no subject
Good point! Aw, you're gonna be my buddy, aren'tcha, firefly?
no subject
Have you thought of a name yet for 'em?
