HOUSING
The mods would like to formally apologize for the small hiccup in the change of housing. We acknowledge that we forgot a person in house six and that made some issues with the choice of houses.
However, we would like to remind people that this is a social game and one of the points in it is that houses will not be enough for everyone in order to force people to solve quests and go on adventures to unlock more floors and more living space.
No character is supposed to be able to keep a house to themselves; that would ICly force other people to sleep on the ground, and that would create IC conflict - this is also part of the game. It also means that casts may not always be able to stay in the same house. This is a good thing, because it forces interaction outside of the own cast.
Everyone should have a place to stay, if they so have to take a bed with force; some people may even have to share beds since there are more characters than house space right now.
We did not anticipate this to be as large an issue as it has to become, and again, we apologize. The game is only a month old and we are still working out some kinks.
That said, PLEASE COMMENT TO THE HOUSING PAGE IF YOUR CHARACTER IS ALREADY ICLY IN A HOUSEHOLD!

(I also edited my comment to reflect that Archer is pretty much a given with Rin, he just doesn't need a bed)
On that note, I love IC conflict and definitely wouldn't mind having to fend off people if someone wanted to play from that angle ♥

The idea of there being hobo fairies that can't find a place to stay cracks me up though, too.
Anyway, on that note if someone is needing help finding housing, House 2 has two available with Yuuki and Zero! Maybe if there is an OOC 'Housing needed/Roommate wanted' post for people to discuss if they need help finding a place for their character to stay it could help? People could immediately look there and see who's open to new roommates, etc.

But if the characters meet, introductions and where they live and their current status (hobo or not), their skillset/or what they want to offer as community to contribute with everyone to make this bearable (which is not necessarily only about fighters), etc would be a good chance to have this taken care of? Maayybe?

How does this sound? Saber has a lot of things already listed to address in the gathering, housing is just one of them.
Edit: I forgot. Those who wanted to cooperate with ice-cooling powers for the raw ingredients, please tell me if it's ok. So we can organize it. I know Rin is going to make some coolers.

(Which I'm perfectly fine with playing out too as well so...)

1. Since everyone will be purchasing more food in the future, a storehouse will be built to hold the food and keep it cold.
2. The food needs to be portioned out evenly. So Saber or another representative will go around asking the residents how they’d like the food to be divided/handed out.
3. And then everyone meets to discuss topics for that month, like the food results and housing situation, among other things?
Did I get all of that right?
So I guess the next question is: what will be done in logs, and what will be done over the amber?

2. Saber won't take care of the food, it's not her field (this time she's involved as an exception), so any other character who is good at this stuff, will take care of it? Or a group of characters who also divide themselves this task (distribution, cooking, preservation etc). She's is proposing division of tasks and administration in general and not just food related.
3. Yep!
Hmm. Meeting face to face in action for the Gathering would be log style?

I’ll add that my current character plot involves creating writing materials (paper and ink or equivalents). So if you need to keep written records of supplies, Orcelito will probably be able to provide the necessary writing tools in the future. (And may offer his administration skills as well, if they are needed.)

Here's the plotting post for this! Sorry for the delay. You can mention that plot there too! It sounds very cool, he could always bring it up in the assembly.

I still like the idea of having an OOC page for discussion of things and finding housing. While I love doing things IC, I really think OOC communication is important as well.

Especially since Rin wouldn't really be the best at welcoming others mostly because she's blunt. If this is something people want, I can have her push for it ICly and get people together? Otherwise someone else is totally free to run with this idea that would be more suited for the role.

Did anyone have a preference for one way or the other? (Offering a feast sounds like the former – gathering everyone together in one thread.)

On the other hand, I don't think they should be mandatory and players should be able to intro their characters however they like since they can arrive at different times. So as long as it's player run, it should be fine?
ICly, characters will soon start to figure out arrivals come around the same time every month and can begin to plan around that? It wouldn't be hard to organize a little festival each month with what they have. Hopefully as time goes on, they can provide a little more for newcomers that would like the option.

It might be kind of cute if Rin did run it (only if that is something you'd want to do though, obviously slkjfls), even if she doesn't always put herself at the forefront due to being blunt, etc? It shows that despite her tsun she actually cares and worries. HEE HEE.
Anyway, neither of my characters I think are the type that would want to be in charge of everything- but both would be willing to help if that gets off the ground? And they'd be willing to contribute ideas to maybe make things easier.
Another idea-- which could be part of the welcoming committee, or not (IDEK) that could help people out, is if maybe an apartment or two gets ICly set aside (once more open up and they complete some quests) that temporarily houses people until they can find lodging of their own? So even if it's cramped, it can be assumed characters can find shelter there if needed. Just an idea, though! I think you mentioned before something similar you were/and or were considering Rin doing-- helping create a safe place for women/children. Although something like this could maybe be expanded to everyone if a house was dedicated to that?
Anyway! It's just another idea, and I'm not sure what people's thoughts on that would be either. But I thought I'd throw it out there.

(Which is a good laugh, I assure you. It's cute, like you said!)
I'm not sure if there will be room to set aside an apartment or two? Right now we're 53 characters with 48 spaces (plus additional if we want to add in the cramped aspect) and there are still some folks who prefer to have limited housing ICly. Maybe clear some space in the first floor and make sleeping mats for people? I think the good thing about having a player run "welcoming" feast/festival/committee/etc is that there will be characters ICly encouraging others to pair up and can help coordinate that.

Also both Jae-Ha and Zero can pitch in when it comes to both cooking and defending, wherever it may be needed. They're not entirely ones who will lead, but will still definitely help out.
