Welcome to the Faerie Feast!
After your have gained your wings, you are met by a feast on the second floor with all that the forest can offer you. Tables and chairs are set up everywhere along the walkway between the houses, allowing the new visitors to meet and greet - or try to hide in the corners and eat berries all by themselves.

Try your new wings to be the first to grab those delicious crumbs of walnut bread? Or say hi to your party lights, courtesy of some excited glow worms and flies that just want to be your best friends.

Explore how your new gem works, try put your leaf clothes or decide to head further into the tree, seeing just what kind of place your have stumbled into. Maybe you will even get a glimpse of those hairy legs on the fourth floor?

How tragic that would be, to not be able to reminiscence with someone about the white cliffs of La Noscea or the harsh beauty of the Sagolii! I must admit it is a little less jarring to be in this odd sylph world with a kinswoman.

[He decidedly likes her laugh, chuckling softly. A really cute kid, in his opinion - and she reminded him of his oldest.]

Ah, and I agree. Wouldn't want the brats to get any ideas, right? Rather keep my tail for now, or I'll be forced to teach some opportunistic boys a lesson when I get back.

[He cracks his knuckles with a wide grin. Looks like the old man still had claws and wasn't about to give up his position any time soon.]

Anyroad, it's a pleasure to meet you. I am T'ormad Nunh.

[He gives her a polite semi-bow, his wings quite dull next to her beautiful pastel-dusted ones, but nevertheless suiting him well.]

[Considering she knows absolute jack about Seeker culture, Chora's rather pleased that she'd guessed correctly; between her tiny win and his vivid (to her imagination at any rate) description of home, she can't help but look back down at him and grin sheepishly.

It's so weird to talk to an attractive guy without any ulterior motives. She's not sure if she's doing it right, but it's the nice weird and she's going to keep trying.
] Hm-mmm, sounds like mass of tragedy on all sides. Shall become your tail-watcher to avoid such sorrow, maybe. Will even work for free, for good of clan and world--

[Oh man how often does anyone bow at her? Both hands fly to her mouth for a second before she manages to force them away again to stop from looking like a giant schoolgirl.] Is pleasure to meet you also, and hope that we become good friends to stave off homesickness. Name is Terpsichora Ll'wen, but...Stupidest name in all of Aldenard. Chora is easier on all tongues. [And with her formal introduction out of the road, she puts one fist to her left breast and returns the bow.]

[Oh dear, she was adorable.]

Ah, I would truly appreciate that gesture, Chora. We'll watch each other's backs in this beautiful place, for the safety of tails and lives, hmm?

Courtesy aside, he was pretty sure that would be needed before the day was over. Being this small seemed to be more troublesome than an Amalj'aa raid, in his weathered opinion. Fighting was easy, this was... complicated.]

I admit to be quite curious of our purpose here.

[Says cute little old mancat who happens to be the epitome of dad cuteness. She doesn't even have a dad, this is ridiculous.]

Sounds like good deal indeed. May not have much in years of experience, but have worked hard, so...May be of some use to you in future, Llymlaen forbid we are expected to fight here. ...Not that is any other reason would be brought to such place, but trust things will be clear in time. Is no need to worry so far, right? Kind of odd, but not...Not dangerous yet. Long as we are alert, shall be no surprises.

[She stops dead, before looking over her shoulder at the two yellowy puffs of fuzz now residing there; it's a little difficult to just brush things off when it's not just abduction but transformation to boot. And if the local beastmen (assumedly sylphs but gods only know) do decide to take offence to this sudden intrusion, they're going to be as useful as tits on a bull.] Ah...

Hope any threats are proportional to new sizing, however.

[personal profile] sandcat 2015-03-06 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[He will dad you forever, Chora.]

Oh dear, I have to agree with that. I do not think we'd be very prepared to fight Ixal or other beastmen in this size.

[There's a brief pause, and then he chuckles.]

Maybe if we fly into their ears and poke their brains!

[Anything to lighten the mood a bit... even if the situation could be quite serious of that was truly the case. He'd fought many monsters in his days, but right now even a chocobo chick would seem quite menacing.]

[Not allowed banned banned forever. No dadding in this park.

Dad worries aside, she actually stops and shoots T'ormad a most disgusted look. It's rare to find something that can gross her out, and here he's managed it...But it's a malm better than thinking about being eaten alive by the one animal she actually likes.
]

...What tactic is this? Would have gone for attack en masse, but...Certainly will not fly into ears of any beastman. Only find crystal dust in there. Perhaps will have to get inventive, try creating traps using handwound twine and the like? [By now, she's at least caught onto his intent and like hell if she's not going to play along at least a little; there's not much else to do, and if nothing else, the Lifestream behind them is making her a little more jovial than normal.

One finger taps on her bottom lip in mock thought, before she waggles it and laughs at the idea she's almost seriously entertaining.
] Might look into crafting tiny little weapons; should be easy to make swords from sticks. Claws harder, maybe, but between us all should work out. Imagine; tiniest army to ever exist! Chigoe steeds, battling Coblyn hordes as true warriors must!

[B-but that's what he's best at! Right after taking blows to the head for the take of protecting others. He's quite excellent at that, too.

Still, he only gives her a wink at that disgusted look, amused as she protests and starts coming up with her own solutions. He rather liked the chigoe idea.]

It sounds like it would be quite a force to be reckoned with! Thankfully I managed to take both my sword and shield with me, so there would be a bit of steel with the sticks.

[He flutters his wings once, cocking his head a little bit to the side.]

We should not delay, though. I am certain you have bonds in Eorzea, and an old cat like me has to keep an eye on his mates and children. All thirteen of them - fourteen any day now!

[Proud dad is proud. (If he had a wallet, it would be bulging from pictures of them.) However, that last part was what made this detour a bit problematic. He wanted to be there for what might be his last child.]

[Dadding a grown woman with daddy issues (who can at least appreciate the value of a hard noggin) can only end in tears before bedtime, you mark my words. Not that there's any point to thinking about dad issues or any such fun things when they're discussing the best way to take out any threats; it's a little hard to believe that there's much hunting small people hidden in a tree, but...

It feels a little normal, too. That's nice.
] Pah, 'course we come equipped; brought claws also. But thinking of others here...Must be someone can train in pugilism. Not sure that mythril has same bite when so small, however--

Huh...Thirteen, and one on the way. [Shit, he actually is a dad; she's not sure of how she's meant to feel about that. Happy that his kids seem to have a pretty alright one? Jealous? Ugh no this is not the time for her neuroses to show. They're tiny little people, and she has her mother and brother to get back to as well; there's no point in being a petty brat about it.] That's...

[Chora's face visibly changes expression at least three times, fluctuating wildly between uncertainty, resentment and some kind of grimace before settling on an awkward smile.] Nice. Mean this; seems...Seems hard, in times as this, to enjoy such things. Family, children and mates alike, are very lucky to have you; not just saying this to curry favour.

[personal profile] sandcat 2015-03-09 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, Chora. =( He'd be so sorry if he knew.

Instead, he grins broadly at her words, thrusting a fist up in the air like a dork.]

Ah, pugilism! My oldest friend and adventuring companion is a pugilist, so I have quite a bit of respect for that form of fighting. I'm sure people here would be thrilled to know some of that for excellent defense against any oversized enemies!

[T'or keeps smiling, even if he picks up the hesitation and awkwardness from her. Perhaps bringing up his tribe had not been the best thing, as it appeared to pull forth some problematic memories form her.

He gives her back a little-too-hard smack on the back, too hard to be pity but still having a bit of friendly camaraderie.]

I am. So we'll have to find our way back to Eorzea sooner or later, hmm? I have a ticket at the Cactpot that might be the winning numbers, too!

[Time to ease the tension. T'or wasn't dumb.]
