Welcome to the Faerie Feast!
After your have gained your wings, you are met by a feast on the second floor with all that the forest can offer you. Tables and chairs are set up everywhere along the walkway between the houses, allowing the new visitors to meet and greet - or try to hide in the corners and eat berries all by themselves.

Try your new wings to be the first to grab those delicious crumbs of walnut bread? Or say hi to your party lights, courtesy of some excited glow worms and flies that just want to be your best friends.

Explore how your new gem works, try put your leaf clothes or decide to head further into the tree, seeing just what kind of place your have stumbled into. Maybe you will even get a glimpse of those hairy legs on the fourth floor?

A: Giant Baby gets wings
[Look. Chora is by no means an elegant gymnast. Sure she can probably pull her legs over her head with a lot of work, but she's got the bearing and grace of a rock. She's not exactly eager to try these wings out, but...Well, if they do work, and if she can manage it all, then it'll be so sweet right?

She's going to do it like nature intended; if you're unlucky, you might see a relatively tall woman run towards the ledge of the second floor. Yep. She's going to attempt to jump. She doesn't mess around.
]

B: Alright that was a failure
[Well, at least she didn't die like an idiot. Much more subdued and sullen, she's currently attempting to gather up as many berries and crumbs of bread as she can carry.

What? Too old, too slow suckers. You miss out, it's your fault. If anyone's game enough to try to reclaim some of her haul, you can expect a fight on your hands; it seems like she has something in mind for all that food.
]

C: Chora no what are you doing
[Once she's done eating and attempting to fly, there's only one thing left for it. Time to change into her sweet new leaf clothes! Except...

Although she's made an effort to find relative privacy, and although she still has her modesty-preserving Typical White MMO Underwear on, there might just be the fact that she's still practically sitting in a hallway trying to figure out whether the leaf clothes thing is just a joke or not. And this coming from a woman who runs around in a black bikini in the snow, honestly.
]

...Smells real. Eugh, will tear it after bell of wear; cannot do anything in actual plant for clothes!

[Natasha has already mastered the art of Plant Clothes TM and is looking about as at-ease as anyone can in such a situation. Still, the-- hallway spectacle makes her pause, and she gives the woman a slightly quizzical look, one eyebrow raised.]

Don't knock it until you've tried it. It's actually pretty comfortable.

[Her cover identity, Tatiana, is a bit of a tree-hugger, she's decided. #savethewhales and all that.]

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-01 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Seeing a very obviously gorgeous Hyuran woman wearing the tunic with ease only makes Chora grumpier. Sad, because if she weren't sour she'd probably very much appreciate the sight. Alas, it's to be a lost opportunity. She purses her lips and drops the mess of shiny green on the floor, trying to ignore the fact that, if nothing else, she's currently faced with the fact that the stupid thing looks very cute when actually on.]

Do not doubt comfort, but...Need function as well. Every place has things needs killing, right? Will get money for it, as I did back home. Cannot fight things in...In...In leaf outfit! Is not protection from claws or weapons! [And, just like that, she's going to flop back on the floor and groan.

She might just be having a tantrum. Sorry Natasha.
] Cannot afford to miss allowance!
dissemblance: (Default)

[personal profile] dissemblance 2015-03-01 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
[This? Not a tantrum. Loki levelling half of New York, now that was a tantrum. Natasha just stoops and picks up the discarded garment, shakes it out and gives the other woman a smile. Always good to know what someone's capable of, and here she is giving Natasha all the information she needs to make a threat assessment.]

I haven't seen anything around here with claws or weapons.

[And she's a lying liar that lies, because she has myriad accoutrements that fit those specifications tucked away in her knapsack, oop.]

Come on, I'll help you. Then we can look for something a little sturdier, all right?

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-01 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
[That is a very valid point. Loki should meet Bahamut one time, see who can level a country first. ...Or maybe not.
Still, how very sneaky; Chora's never had to consider someone reading her moves (mainly because she doesn't have to worry about the attention being on her half the time), and the idea of trying to act the least bit like she's not an open book doesn't once occur to her.

Especially not considering there are bigger fish to fry, like the clothing conundrum.
]

Rubbish. Because you do not see it, does not mean is not there; is always threat to things, even in tiny place like this. ...And I-- Am not child! [Because she's done such a great job of proving that so far, hasn't she? Still, at least it's enough to light a fire under her and get her back onto her feet, all...All four inches of her standing tall and trying to look cool.

Which is hard when she's still in her underwear. And pouting somewhat.
] Appreciate offer of help, however, but am doing this not as your charge. Deal?
dissemblance: (Default)

[personal profile] dissemblance 2015-03-01 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Okay, so she's somewhere with an omnipresent threat. Likewise, useful to know.]

The thought never crossed my mind.

[Although it's beginning to be obvious the girl may require a babysitter, Natasha is certainly not that person. That said, it doesn't mean she can't help right now.]

My name's Tatiana. You can call me Tanya if you want.

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-02 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
[More like quite a few omnipresent threats, if we count the summonable crazy beastgods and the actual pantheon of gods who may als-- Look, the point is yes. Yes to everything, including the babysitter part. It's a miracle she's even still alive, really.]

...Ha. [At least Chora's self-aware enough to crack a thin smile.] Alright, but only if can help or reward you in similar fashion. Does not sit well to take charity when am perfectly capable...

Name is Terpsichora Ll'wen. Name is also incredibly stupid, so Chora is easier to say. Hope that can make up for abominable first impression, Tanya; do you fight? [In what universe is that an acceptable end to an introduction good lord...]

[Memoca sees Chora run. She does not move to stop her.]

Lean down a bit before you jump! Make sure to open up your wings and glide before you start beating them!

[At least she's giving okay advice? Even though she hasn't flown in none-seagull form for ages herself, and fairy wings, moth or pixie, are completely different...]

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-02 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
[And excellent advice it is!

Except for the fact that Memoca's just scared the everliving tar out of Chora, who has tripped over herself in surprise and tumbled to a halt.
Which is good, because she probably would die anyway like the giant idiot she is. Those two pink and yellow moth wings don't even seem to be able to flap at the moment, if the way they simply fold back in defeat is anything to go by.

Either that or they're just matching their owner's mood. The latter's probably likely given that she's just lying on the ground in a huge mess of thick limbs, staring balefully at Memoca like it's her fault.
] ...Thanks. Will remember for next time.
fowlmiliar: (laugh- HAHA... WHY... W H Y)

[personal profile] fowlmiliar 2015-03-02 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
[Excellent advice indeed. Memoca thinks so too.

So when she barrels against the ground out of shock, Memoca both winces and chuckles internally.]

AHAHAH! Did you just trip on midair? Wow, you're reeeally bad at this.

[Wherever Chora is, Memoca decides to step next to her. She might notice that where Memoca's arms are is where her pixie wings are placed instead-- there is nothing on her back.]

I'll show you how it's done!

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-02 08:32 am (UTC)(link)
[WOW RUDE THANKS A LOT MEMOCA. Totally just earned a raspberry, though at least Chora's sitting up and dusting herself off, watching very closely as if she's really going to master flight from watching one time. ...Well, at least she's confident.] Not everyone has option of just waving arms like maniac; is hard to adjust to new body parts!

...Am not saving you if you fall, either; better not suck. [And to show extra maturity, she's just going to stick her nose in the air and merely watch from the corner of her eye. Yep. Sure is a grown woman acting like a baby.]
fowlmiliar: (SQUAWK- SQUAWK!!!)

[personal profile] fowlmiliar 2015-03-02 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey! You're just scared to try. I'll show you!

[Memoca, with full confidence, leaps off and spreads her wings. The rush of air makes them unfold instantly, displaying in full view the intricate patterns of her wings. So majestic, so--

--wait, hold on, she's going down pretty fast. Like, uncannily fast. Unfortunately, Memoca's spent so much time underwater, flying in air with an unfamiliar wing shape is proving to perhaps be too much for her.]

Wait, wait, hold up! No! WAAAAUGH--

[She crashes straight into the wall.

1-HIT KO]

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-03 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
[She'd been just about to yell her protests when--

Well, when she finds out that she's not the only one who can't fly for balls, really. Chora's just sitting there uselessly for a second before leaping to her feet and running after Memoca, trying to watch her graceful descent all the way down.

And it's totally worth it, once she's pretty sure that there hasn't been a fatality. They're tiny little fairies, they can't die right? Nahhh. Chora just scales down to her new, crumpled buddy like a little, pastel spider monkey before standing over her with her arms folded. ...Huh. That sure had been a thing.
]

Not sure whether laughing or helping is appropriate. Are alive, yes?
fowlmiliar: (angry- why i ought to)

[personal profile] fowlmiliar 2015-03-03 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
[Don't worry, there won't be a major genre change just yet. Memoca twitches for a moment, before scrambling to her feet, wings crumbled-- it's fine, she folds them to pick things up anyway, so they snap back in place easily enough.]

Stupid wings!

[She's alive.

Memoca turns to Chora, before clearing her throat and saying:]

Pretend you never saw that.

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-06 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[...It'd be a lie to say that Chora isn't relieved when there are signs of life. Weird little sprout Memoca may be, but it's always nice when people don't die or grievously injure themselves.

That being said, she can't miss her chance to be an ass about everything; on comes her most serious of expressions, arms crossed and head inclined in mock thought.
] Hm...Not sure about that. Was very hilarious thing I might have witnessed; may take more persuading to--

[And then she beams.] Just winding you up. Consider it forgotten; would not want to be laughed at for lack of skill with own wings, and would merely seem is somewhat new for everyone here. Won't even charge for such favour, considering was done for my benefit.

b, no I can't resist.

[personal profile] stillgotsoul 2015-03-06 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Zara starts by simply watching the rather large woman gather up all that food. Honestly, it was something she herself would do, so at first, she isn't about to challenge. Curiosity, on the other hand, is evident in both her expression and her eyes, and slowly, one white eyebrow goes up, up, up.

After a few moments, she can't help but speak. "I'm naut certain that will last until the winter, and you certainly do naut resemble a squirrel. What will you do with all that, hmm?"

how could anyone resist the idea of a giant manchild hoarding food tbh

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-07 12:04 pm (UTC)(link)
As soon as Zara speaks up, Chora stops dead (almost like a guilty child caught sneaking food to the dog at the table). ...Not that it takes her long to recover, nope; instead, she turns to jerk her chin defiantly. Still like a child really, but in a too-big body.

"Not storing it for winter; bread would grow stale, is no point. Am simply repurposing food."

Not that it's exactly the most clear of explanations, but she's not willing to reveal more right now given she's put so much stock into appearing as hard as possible. Which goes a long way into explaining why she squares her shoulders and stands up straighter, as if trying to look as big as possible whilst holding a whole load of cutesy faerie food. Ridiculous. "...Not sharing, either. Find your own."
...Honestly? If Chora wasn't so focussed on this 'looking hard' business, she'd probably feel a little guilty. Hell, she'd ask the same questions (and Zara is kind of cute, in that weird, dangerous Elezen way). Why oh why must things be badly timed?

[personal profile] stillgotsoul 2015-03-07 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"Repurposing," Zara echoes, looking thoughtful. "For what, hmm?" That eyebrow goes up again.

But then the girl goes on about how she is not sharing, and the elf laughs. It might be pretty, if there wasn't an edge of cackle to it--which makes her stop, abruptly. The scowl is brief, but present; not directed at Chora, however, but at whatever is foremost in Zara's memory--probably the thought of her mother. But she isn't about to offer that tidbit of information, either.

"I would naut dream of taking your food. I only asked because I wanted to know." She lifts her nut-cup in something like a toast, and takes another sip of whatever's in it. "I am naut certain that it would work as bait, and we are all rather small to go hunting, nau?"

Not that Zara would be averse to a bit of meat, but she'd gotten the feeling she'd be missing it sorely before she got a taste again.

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-08 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Before she can really manage to stop herself, it just...tumbles out of her mouth.

"None yours!"

...Well. At least Chora's got the self-awareness to look mildly ashamed of her rude little outburst, clutching the food a little tighter and trying to ignore how her face feels like it's turning purple. "...Not bad things. Not hunting, either; do not know what would bring, anyroad. Is good things, for food."
She's practically squirming at this stage, shifting from foot to foot and definitely some hideous shade of aubergine. If Zara's looking closely enough, she might see that shifty gaze turn to the pocket of glow worms so eagerly providing lighting and background chatter, however.

Not that it seems noble when, as if to shut herself up, Chora jams a crumb into her mouth and begins to viciously chew. Good job, buddy. Real great job of not looking like a weenie.

omg precious giant baby

[personal profile] stillgotsoul 2015-03-08 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
It seems that the drow is about to say something--she inhales, brows going up, up, up, and her expression heads towards 'sour', when Zara notices that shifty-eyed look going towards the little knot of glowing worms.

And it all becomes clear to her. However, she does not draw undue attention, at first. The act of feeding the little critters is something she would do herself, it is true, but she would be just as uncomfortable about it, especially if attention were brought to it.

So she finishes whatever dew is left in her walnut cup--a cup she needs to hold in her arms, no less--and gets to her feet, to extend that as a tray of sorts to the Roegadyn.

"You might need that," she offers. "You would naut want to drop any, I should think." More than that, the little critters could probably use whatever moisture the crumbs might absorb from the dew left in the cup. Not that Zara is about to draw any more attention to any of it than she already has by actually explaining that...
