Welcome to the Faerie Feast!
After your have gained your wings, you are met by a feast on the second floor with all that the forest can offer you. Tables and chairs are set up everywhere along the walkway between the houses, allowing the new visitors to meet and greet - or try to hide in the corners and eat berries all by themselves.
Try your new wings to be the first to grab those delicious crumbs of walnut bread? Or say hi to your party lights, courtesy of some excited glow worms and flies that just want to be your best friends.
Explore how your new gem works, try put your leaf clothes or decide to head further into the tree, seeing just what kind of place your have stumbled into. Maybe you will even get a glimpse of those hairy legs on the fourth floor?
[ Wyrden does notice Kit's animalistic features, but barely bats an eye. There are Sinners with those sorts of aesthetic, after all - she just went on missions with the ones who didn't let their decor get in the way of fighting. ]
Berry? You mean like a strawberry?
[ Her eyes widen subtly at that. Strawberries were food from the distant past. She only knew how it tasted because a Citizen went ahead and replicated the chemical flavour. To see one up close... wow. ]
[Yeah, he noticed Korra's wings didn't look like his butterfly ones. Odd that every single pair of wings was different, like they reflected the person somehow.
So what was it about him that gave him pretty butterfly wings then? He almost snorted though, Korra then starting trying to be humorous. It rubbed off on him, he appreciated it.]
Right, adding "bunny" makes me sound outrageously threatening.
[A nod followed.]
Unfortunately yes, and I only hoped people didn't come before me or follow my own example. Guess that wasn't the case.
[It takes a few moments for Yoshitsugu to think that through, but eventually it pops into his head. It's been a while since he's interacted with any of the traders who come to Japan to sell their wares, after all... the last time was probably when Hideyoshi was still alive.]
The Western traders refer to their homeland of 'Portugal' as being part of Europe. If you are using the same calendar as they, then...
[Too late Kit already caught some of it, perceptive little thing that she is. But she doesn't say anything, since it seems like Kuvira doesn't want anything said about it.
The offer of teaching gets a smile, though.]
Sure, that sounds good. I'd like to learn; I feel like I'm missing out on stuff sometimes.
[The stuff about bending just gets a curious head-tilt.]
Huh... I don't think we have anything like that back home. Some people, like the Clerics, can tap into the world's magic to do different things, but I don't think it works like that. At least, I've never seen Cheetara move earth or water or metal or anything. Her magic does help her run super fast though. A lot faster than even the Thundertank can go.
[Wily-Kit just gives Gohan a look. Seriously dude, she appreciates your attitude toward food, but you gotta at least pretend to eat like a civilized person. She's a little cat-girl and she has better manners than you.]
You shouldn't talk with your mouth full. It's rude, and nobody can understand you.
[Plus, her tone implies a whole lot of 'you're a grown-up; you should know better'.]
[ Zelda was so preoccupied examining what she hoped was a cup of tea that she didn't notice someone had sat down beside her until Peach spoke. Turning, she offered Peach a slight nod of the head in acknowledgement. ]
I've yet to decide. [ She answered honestly. ] This reception is lovely, but I wonder where our host is. [ Since arriving, Zelda had seen a lot of other people who looked like guests, people who seemed to come from all different walks of life, but there was no one around who looked like they fully belonged here. ]
[ Zelda was standing near the hole that the Life Stream passed through on the first floor, absently turning her Day Gem over and over in her right hand. She was distracted by the strange feeling the two pairs of gold and opalescent wings jutting out from her shoulder blades. When they first sprouted from her back after picking up her gem, the sensation was downright unpleasant, and as soon as she had haphazardly flown up to the first floor, she tucked the gem away in her bag. ]
[ But after eating and watching other people experiment with their new wings, Zelda had decided to give the gem a second change. At least standing next to the Life Stream made her feel a bit more calm -- ]
[ -- That is, until something crashed right into Zelda's back and nearly sent her falling over. ]
[...Yeah, he's just going to continue to stare in awe until Gohan mentions bread. Without any further prompting, Link reaches out and passes the walnut loaf across the table. Helping! Hooray!]
...Don't worry about it. Though, er... it might help to take things slower?
Wouldn't want to choke.
[He sounds uncertain, and quiet, like maybe he shouldn't be giving his two cents. Maybe this guy always eats like that. Well... it's too late to take anything back, so Link just grins a little awkwardly in Gohan's direction.]
[ Being somewhere new didn't really bother Shovel Knight. After all, he was an adventurer, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than traveling! The thought of being whisked away to a new land... it excited him more than he could really describe! But, for all his excitement, it was mildly disconcerting that Shield Knight wasn't with him...
Nonetheless, he was confident in his partner's ability to fend for herself. She didn't need him to look out for her, especially now that she was herself. If either of them were in danger, he was confident that they would both find a way to save the other...
... But right now, there was a feast to be had! A celebration for all the travelers that had been whisked away to this strange land! Shovel Knight could be seen sitting by the table, raising his glass to anyone walking by. An air of friendliness surrounding him, even if the helmet made it... practically impossible to read his expression. ]
[ Most people would probably be at least a little bit taken aback by such rudeness from such a young girl, but not Videl. No, the mother of an overactive mixed-breed alien toddler with inhuman strength was not fazed Sara's attitude at all. ]
Is that any way to speak to people? [ Videl frowned at Sara, putting a hand on her hip. In the other hand, she balanced a plate heaped with more nuts and berries for her husband and his impossible appetite. ] What're you doing over here by all by yourself anyway?
[It's the silence, well, silent intentness of the scene which has caught his attention. Most others are either exploring, attempting flight or stuffing their faces. Seeing someone working on something all alone is different and he approaches quietly to observe.
A few seconds after having approached the other man, he finally speaks up.]
Hush now, I'd rather not be deafened while trying to help you.
[The words come from an elderly looking man dressed in a three-piece suit with brown and white moth wings.
Currently he's standing on the ledge and looking down at her, one arm extending to offer a hand. Though if she doesn't grab it, he's strong enough to grab hold of her and pull her up onto the ledge.]
[ She takes the piece from Kit, inspecting it closely. It certainly isn't anything she has seen before, so she holds it out in front of her Accessory. ]
Scan it for me.
[ Ramiel takes his eyes off her and stares at the fruit for a few seconds before speaking. His voice is fluid, but evidently synthetic. ]
Organic material detected. Total nutrient composition: 82 percent carbohydrates, 10 percent fats, 8 percent protein. Trace minerals detected, significant amounts of magnesium and ascorbic acid.
[ Wyrden tilts her head, popping the piece into her mouth. Her expression immediately changes. ]
A; [Gold's currently on the entrance floor, examining the light that's shinning through the tree. It's nothing quite like anything he's encountered, similar to some things and yet nothing alike. He's uncertain whether the size differences are due to being kidnapped to a world larger than life so to speak, or whether he's merely been shrunk down, not that he's given too much thought to it, either way it's the same situation currently.
He's dressed still in the suit he arrived in, cane in one hand, backpack under one arm, a dark gem in his other hand, which seems to be responsible for the brown moth-like wings that grace his back currently.
Feel free to poke him about the light, or say hello.]
B;
[He's gotten used to the wings now, and has made his way up a higher floor. He's now investigating the feast and has noted the selective variety laid out for people's enjoyment.
For now, he's tucked the gem stone within a vest pocket so as to free a hand and is thus currently wingless. His pack still remains beneath the same arm that is currently carrying his cane.
Considering the merits of actually trying the food out, he speaks quietly, though the statement isn't directed at anyone.]
The feast is nice, but I would rather meet the people who have set it out for us.
C;
[He's made his way up to the third floor and is now currently investigating the webbing currently blocking access to any higher up.
Though just what created isn't a question he's asking since he suspects he's seen it..or at least it's legs. Hopefully it'll remain on the fourth floor side of the web. He'd rather not test out just how this world has affected his magic without time to safely experiment on that matter first.]
[ Henry's reaction to his own wings had paled in comparison to the reaction of his body. But he did his best to calm himself and look around. Was this the inside of the Box? Or was he somewhere else? Noting the other people, obviously the latter so that gave him the worry of meeting someone who would mistake him for his body rather than his mind.
And this happened sooner than he wanted. He'd flown up to the third floor and saw someone he recognised. Of all the people who could recognise this body, Gold was the worst. He'd char him in a second. So instead of calling out to the man, as he would have had been himself, he tried to fly away. Sadly he dropped his gem and fell to the floor with a thump.
[It was rather fortunate for Henry that Gold was currently uncertain about his magic and thus wouldn't actually char first, question later in this particular place. The gem rolled in his direction and the toe of one dress shoe moved to rest over it to stop it. He leaned over, picking it up and quietly examined it before turning his attention to the direction it had come from.
The words he'd been about to say, offering the gem back, died on his tongue unspoken as he stared at the too familiar figure laying on the floor of the room. If not for the fact he knew his father was imprisoned, he'd wonder if their being in this place was his doing as possibly far-fetched as it sounded. Not that he'd put it past him. Of course, there was the fact that his father's body was currently laying on the floor a few strides away, and most definitely not in Pandora's Box.
Couldn't he ever be free of the man?
He tossed the gem toward the other man as he finally spoke.]
I don't know what is going on here, but you make one move toward me and I will see that you regret it.
[Looks like experimenting with and testing the limits of magic here just climbed up on his list of priorities. If his father was here, he was definitely going to need all the aces up his sleeve he could acquire. Not that magic would do much to shut the other man up unfortunately.]
[ Henry didn't move. Well, he didn't move closer to his grandfather at any rate. He had to move so he wasn't lying flat on his stomach and ended in a sitting position, catching the gem and pocketing it as he didn't think flying away was a viable option any more. He needed to explain. But how? All the versions going around in his head just sounded like tricks Pan would pull.
Still sitting on the floor, he watched the man in the suit and wondered what he had been doing while Henry had been stuck in the Box. And what Pan had been doing in his own body? What on Earth was happening back in Storybrooke with the two of them here? Henry wouldn't be missed, not with Pan around. But Mr Gold? That was a scary thought. But nothing of consequence to the current situation. He was still desperately trying to think of a way to explain who he was without it sounding like a trick. And thoroughly failing. In the end, he decided not to even try answering the man's small threat and just give Mr Gold the facts. ]
I'm not Pan. I'm Henry. Please don't kill me. He switched our bodies somehow and I ended up in the Box. I don't know how I got here but I can prove who I am if you give me a chance. Ask me something only Henry would know.
[ His expression and tone were one of fear and pleading, desperate to heard and not hurt - something he was fairly sure Pan would never do to the man before him. Hopefully that would be a point in his favour. ]
[That he hadn't expected. He studied the face and took silent note of his body language as he mulled over the words. He also silently replayed the moment back on the Jolly Roger when he'd put Pan in the box.
It could be an act, a trick, but here in this place, what point would there be to such trickery? He decided to call the bluff and take him up on the chance to 'prove' just who was in control of the body before him.
While Henry could have told Pan a lot of things, he wouldn't know everything. Though it wasn't easy to think of something to ask, he finally settled on asking the boy something from a time when it was just the two of them. Hopefully it would be difficult enough to serve as decent proof.]
You'll remember Manhattan then, and the conversation we had while you ate something I bought for you. Tell me about that conversation and what it was you were eating during it.
