ANYWAY. Did you use to have bird wings, before the gem gave you different ones?

I think Arno's angling to also borrow it to read my books. Some kind of system may be needed.

I did! [raises feathery arms] They were nicer, to tell the truth, for all that I can hover better now. Wings such as mine could strike fear into the hearts of men! Or something like that.

Would you rather go home as a tiny winged creature, or try and stick it out to be turned back?

--Whoa wait, wait, those aren't my questions. Those don't count, okay? Okay. So, to answer your question: of course I'd stick it out! A hero doesn't abandon the quest partway through! He sees it through to completion, no matter how arduous the journey! Besides, I'd be kinda useless as a tiny fairy back home. The foes we're fighting are a lot bigger than snakes and squirrels.

All right, so my real question... If you had bird wings, you didn't have anything like hands, right? Did you have to grab everything with your feet?

Actually, I gripped things with my wings decently well. Sometimes I had to use my beak or my feet to help out, admittedly.

So if you returned home you'd have to take up pest control-style adventuring?

Yeah, and way less dashing than most Chosen Crusaders of Light. ...Not that there are very many of us, but still.

Oh, very well. Books are on my phone the same way games are! The contents of a page appear on the screen, and you may page back and forth. Or there's an audiobook function, and you can listen to someone reading it out loud.

In the real world, I am a hero of justice, of course.

And yourself? I have to say, 'crusader' does not invite my confidence.

A Knight? HA! All that armour would only slow me down! Nay, my lady, I am a Swordmaster, a swift specialist in the blade! A master of evasion! A champion of the critical strike!

What about you? A Lord? --No, wait, I'm gonna guess Paladin.

"Swordmaster". I have never heard of such title. Is it a common one where you hail from? [She will not reveal her name, though she can say this.] I am Saber, I thought that would be obvious. The "Knight of the Sword."

Yeah, pretty common. It's a level up from Myrmidon, granted to those who have truly mastered the art of the blade! Chon'sin is famed far and wide for skilled Swordmasters, but you can find them in pretty much any army.

...Yeah, but Saber's your name, not--never mind. So you are a Knight? 'Cause they usually use lances where I'm from... You must be pretty strong then, huh?

I see. Do you have an individual title you prefer to be known as if this one is shared by many?

It is how I am addressed. [Does 'Saber' sound like a real name?] Yes I am a knight. I am able to wield a spear decently as well. Though, I am Saber and not Lancer at the moment.

Well, if you care so much about proper titles, it's Prince of Ylisse, nephew of the Exalt. I'm also the Legendary Scion of Heroes, the Chosen Warrior of Light, and the Avenging Avenger of Justice, among other things. But just 'Owain' works too.

['Saber' is no weirder than any other name where he's from, really.] Okay, gotcha. So do you like swords better than spears? Ooh, what's your favourite weapon you've ever wielded?

I had not known you were royalty, Owain. [He has fully introduced himself, so she should be obliged to do the same if he asks. "Avenging Avenger of Justice" sounds like a mouthful to say.] Titles sometimes describe well those they were given to.

You probably never heard of it. [So she can speak of it without betraying Rin or Shirou.] It was a holy sword called Caliburn that I lost long ago.
