WEEKLY UPDATE June 8 - 14

The heat is slowing down this week, making room for gray skies and a lot of wind. There's constant rain in the air, a few small showers splattering down now and then. The rain gets worse at the end of the week, following with another thunderstorm on Friday.

The tulips and the poppy are all losing their petals after blooming this week, and are starting to sag, ready to release their seeds just like the dandelions have.

The ginger is still around, thankfully, and is quite delicious to anyone who has tried it - and the raspberry bush is finally starting to show some still green but maturing berries.

Some more mushrooms are slowly raising their caps near the Tree's roots, and these small ones are actually edible!

Babies, babies, babies!

The rabbit litter have now all grown their fur, opened their eyes and have started to hop around slightly in their shallow burrow under the watching eye of their mother. For those with the knowledge, there are three girls and two boys.

The bluebird's eggs have hatched, with three little loud chicks begging for food from anyone even remotely mother-like, including any adventurers flying above them. Chime seems especially protective over these little ones.

The cat is still around, usually found resting near the mist and purring whenever she can feel the adventurers on the other side. It looks like she might be losing weight, though.

• The Life Stream will change color completely on Wednesday, leaving it blue-purple rather than yellow-gold. The comforting, happy and calm feeling you normally get from being near or in it is now the opposite, making the adventurers sad, stressed and uncomfortable instead.

• There's still a ridiculous amount of food being placed on the altar for some reason.

• Two strange fairy wagons have appeared outside the tree, large enough to hold about five people each, and complete with harnesses and bridles for animals to pull them.

The mirror shard is blank. No new quests can be found.

Food Storage and Meeting This Week

Back-dated to June 3rd, Orcelito and Saber are talking about storing the extra left-over food each night. Would everyone be okay with having a Tree-wide food collection in the storage buildings?

Also, shall we call an official meeting on or after Wednesday, like a Gathering, for the characters who’d like to speculate and plan for the future? I imagine that once the Lifestream alters the characters will want to discuss it, and it may be easiest to keep all related conversations in one thread.

Would your character/s be interested in attending a meeting? Any further suggestions?

Ivaera would definitely be interested in attending a meeting, and would bring up the idea she had over the amber slice, namely constructing a lift or series of lifts for the tree. She'll steadily be gathering what supplies she can, and suggestions are very welcome.

Yeah. They'll be storms by the end of the week, maybe Wednesday?

Sounds good. I imagine there will be a lot of chatter over the amber when the light turns a different color, so it would make sense to make the announcement and immediately summon everyone to a meeting.

Oh, yes, I mean one post, and the main body of the text will be Saber's message over the Amber, but most of the thread will be action as everyone arrives at the meeting and starts talking. Like one of those Amber -> Action posts. Am I making sense? (Sorry, I'm still getting used to the journal RP terminology... XD;)

Amonir here is new, but preserving food helps everyone. He should know some ways to cure the meats at least.

Semi-related, I made a post recording Archer's efforts to harvest and preserve foodstuffs to date. So far he's been mostly doing this alone, but he could be convinced to join forces with the others--possibly.

Just to confirm: Are the butters, oils, and jams available in the storehouse for all Adventurers or just his house?

So far he's been keeping most of them himself (save for what he shares with Saber), but occasionally he'll leave a container or two in the storehouse because he'll get cranky if people start being malnourished. He won't let anyone know it's him, though.

Gil's probably going to start sneaking a bunch of the nicer berries. Of course, to him it's not sneaking. Of course he can take as much as he wants, but it's probably going to be hard to tell who's taking it unless they're right there with Gil because he just throws his share into the Gate of Babylon and isn't eating most of it.
